Dan Jones is the Republican candidate seeking to represent District 3 on the Indianapolis Marion County City-County Council. Recently retired from a career in municipal finance, he seeks to bring his professional experience of thirty years in neighborhood, city, county, and state leadership positions to this council seat.
A graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics, Dan is married, father of one son, and a longtime homeowner and resident of Washington Township. He is a member of Northview Christian Church, a Republican Ward Chairman, former treasurer of Drug Free Marion County, and has been the recipient of numerous Budget Presentation awards for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County. Dan has served the Eastwood Neighborhood Association for many years in various roles including President, Vice President, and Treasurer.
He has strong analytical skills in financial and strategic planning, multi-year forecasting of revenue and expenses, lease negotiation, and intergovernmental relations.
Dan’s availability of time, his knowledge of needs and issues in his neighborhood and city, and yes, “Experience That Matters”, make him uniquely qualified to serve in this position.
Dick Gilyeat, Washington Township resident and leader - "I've never known a better prepared and qualified candidate for City-County Council because of his experience in city, state, and county finance. I believe he will be a full-time councilman."
